Gotham Tech Families and Community:
Happy Halloween!
Here’s everything you need to know for the week ahead.
November 2025 Events Calendar – more updates to come!

Stay tuned for more details on Monday regarding our Fall Gala, hosted by the Parent Teacher Association!
**Student Updates**
TO REQUEST A REPLACEMENT OMNY/ID: Please fill out the following form – replacements will not be given without form submission! Also, please be patient as we do not have any extra OMNY cards at the moment. We are waiting for a shipment from the Office of Pupil Transportation. Parents, please discuss with your child the importance of keeping their OMNY card safe. We have already replaced over 50 lost cards and do not have an unlimited supply.
Hiking Day Trip! Gotham Tech has partnered with Sierra Club! 🎉
On Sunday, November 23rd, Gotham Tech students will be visiting Interstate National Park! This hike has it all — river views, well-maintained coastal trails & forest trails, and historic monuments. Students, want to sign up? Fill out this form! Spots are limited.
National Honor Society (Applications close TODAY!): 11th and 12th graders, haven’t applied yet? Fill out the application here.
Snowboarding and Skateboarding with CHILL: Huge shoutout to the students who accompanied me to American Dream to learn snowboarding over the past few weeks – it’s been a blast!
For potential students, please be advised: CHILL is a 6-week commitment, from 2pm to 8pm on one day each week. Spots are extremely limited (as in, maximum 4 students per season), and as such, you must commit to excellent attendance, behavior, and grades throughout the duration of the program. If you fail to meet these requirements, you will be removed from the program. It’s free, after all!
Tardiness and Absenteeism: On a similar note… Students, friendly reminder that our daily start time is 8am. Your parents will begin to receive messages and phone calls home if you arrive later than 8:10am (if they haven’t already!). If you are not in class by third period, your parents will also receive an automatic phone call home advising them of your absence for the day.
Both the buses and the McDonald’s across the street are slow in the morning, so set those alarms early and don’t be late!
GCSA: Since 1957, GCSA has helped NYC students reach their college goals, and now Gotham Tech 10th graders have the chance to join!
The new after‑school mentorship and scholarship program pairs you with industry professionals from companies like Sony, Google and Penguin Random House for bi‑weekly one‑on‑one virtual mentoring, plus fun weekly workshops on college and career readiness. Participants enjoy paid local and overnight college trips, job‑site visits and community events, and receive a $4,000 scholarship for college or a post‑secondary program.
Space is limited to 12–15 students, and eligible applicants must meet income requirements and be a person of color, first‑generation college student, English/multilingual learner or have a documented disability. Apply by November 1 to secure your spot.
Gotham Tech x Big Brothers Big Sisters: Thank you to all who joined me on the field trip to Pinterest Headquarters! To those who didn’t secure their spot this time around, no worries! More trips to come!
