2025 NYSESLAT for ENL Students

ENL instruction is about language acquisition and progression. To monitor that progression, students are given the New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT) each year. The exam covers reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

The results of this assessment will NOT impact your child’s ability to graduate. It is simply to measure how much your child has progressed in their understanding of the English language. Teachers will use the results of this assessment to further support your child in their classes in the upcoming school year.
